Today my wife and I became the proud owners of a new car, well, new to us at least. After taking Saturday to shop all day I settled on a 2001 VW Passat today. This thing in nice, power everything, V6, heated seats, etc. Nice! We are both thrilled with this puppy.
UPDATE The car is running great and I’ve begun to run down and repair issues with my wife’s old car — the ‘92 Paseo. So far I have this thing running better, still need to do the brakes but it’s all a process. Hopefully all will be taken care of in the next week.

Testing this for the heck of it, to help battle holiday weight. I am trying out *Traineo* from the link at the bottom, but there are a few neat ones to check out on there, all packed with Web 2.0 goodness!

Turkey day has come and gone, I think I was more stuffed than the bird. This was my first Thanksgiving with my wife and her family, I am not used to the big family thing but it certainly is growing on me fast. Her family is really very nice to me, and my new nieces and nephew are a pleasure to be around. I am undergoing this family initiation and passing with flying colors I am pretty sure.

Okay, not really bloody, not at all. This has been quite a weekend, we’re having car issues AGAIN and we are now thinking of getting a new ride. This was something I was hoping we could hold off until Spring but we may not be able to. Our friend Ledges (aka Mike) is going to help me out in buying a car next weekend, it’s not that I don’t know how to pick a good car, but I cannot get fair prices like him, he’s a car salesman’s worse NIGHTMARE. So we’re looking into either a Mazda 3, Ford Focus or Saturn Ion as the new “family truckster 8-)”. That’ll still leave us with my car as a bad car but hopefully I can snag something cheap that’s in better shape than my poor old Honda.
Last night we went out to celebrate Lisa’s birthday, it was actually supposed to be celebrating her and Mindy’s birthday at the same time but I don’t think people knew that. Not sure if that was my fault or Lisa’s, still we all had a pretty good time at the bowling emporium named Tropicana, and then the Ledges and Us went across town to Nick’s Pub for a bite to eat and some drinks, we all had a great time rapping about current and past events, even spoke of possible future events. And we were able to give the Ledges the Onesie that Mindy bought weeks ago for their daughter, it reads “My daddy loves me more than Skateboarding” which if you knew Mike, it would have been hard to believe that but it is oh so true :D Well that’s it for now!

It’s Friday!
Okay, it’s been a long week for me and I’m glad it’s finally coming to a close. This week seems to drag on, and the weather has been stupid, warm almost like June in January … This week, not so much, in fact this week it is so frigid that it feels like January in January. Oh well, I have the weekend off, hopefully I can get some things taken care of and/or get some rest and relaxation. I quit drinking a couple of weeks ago, had two cocktails on Monday for Mindy’s birthday dinner, I may get back onto some cocktails this weekend. I think I proved my point that I don’t have a problem with alcohol. I haven’t sneaked around and drank anything, nor have I hid my drinking from anyone so I think that makes a strong case that I am not an alcoholic, right? Looking for comments folks!

Today I took a day off, an event that was scheduled was pushed back a couple of weeks and I decided to get some things taken care of. Unfortunately I didn’t get as much taken care of as I would have liked but still got a bulk of things done. So now I’m writing this entry as I’m waiting for some dye to take effect, this is the first time I’ve dyed my hair in years, going darker for a bit of a change.
At any rate, it’s about time to wash, I need to get that taken care of then trim up the hair a bit to be ready for work tomorrow. And this evening I’m going to experiment on some scripting, time for this site to be what it was intended for from the start, a testing ground for scripting and design.
